Terms and conditions
Last updated 29 September 2026
1. About these terms
Happy Hooves Farm is operated by Titiwai Ventures ("we", "us"). These terms apply when you buy entry or animal feed through this website and when you visit the farm. By paying, you agree to these terms for yourself and for everyone in your group.
2. Tickets and our honesty system
Entry works on an honesty system. Our staff aren't always on site, so please pay for everyone in your group before you go in.
- Tickets are valid on the day of purchase only.
- Each entry fee covers one person for one visit.
- Keep your "Paid" screen handy. Our staff may ask to see it and check the date and reference.
- A ticket from a different day, or a screenshot of someone else's ticket, is not valid.
3. Prices and payment
Prices are in New Zealand dollars and are shown before you pay. Each order includes a $0.50 transaction fee. Card payments are processed securely by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details.
4. Refunds
We don't offer refunds for change of mind, including if you arrive and decide not to go in, or don't use your ticket on the day.
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986. If we close the farm or can't provide what you paid for, we will refund you. Contact us (see section 13) to arrange this.
5. Animal feed
Grab your feed at the gate on the day of purchase. Only feed the animals the feed we provide. Don't feed the animals your own food, as it can make them sick.
Don't hand-feed the pigs, as they may bite. They love pats and scratches, though!
Follow our signs and any staff instructions about which animals can be fed and how.
6. Children
Children under 14 must be supervised by an adult (18 or older) at all times. There may be no staff on site, so the supervising adult is responsible for the children in their care.
7. Safety around animals
- Animals can be unpredictable. They may nip, kick, jump or push, especially around food.
- Staff may not be on site, so read and follow all signs, and any instructions from our staff when they are. Don't climb fences or gates, or enter animal pens unless a sign or our staff say you can.
- Don't chase, tease or pick up animals.
- The farm has uneven ground, mud and animal droppings. Wear suitable footwear and watch your step.
8. Hygiene
Animals can carry germs that make people sick. Wash your hands with soap and water after touching animals and before eating or drinking. Pregnant people, young children, older people and anyone with a weakened immune system should take extra care.
9. Our rights
We may refuse entry to, or ask to leave, anyone who hasn't paid, behaves unsafely, mistreats animals or ignores our signs or staff instructions. In that case no refund is given. We may close all or part of the farm at short notice for weather, safety or animal welfare reasons.
10. Responsibility
Please look after your belongings; we are not responsible for loss of or damage to personal property, except where the law says we are. Nothing in these terms excludes any liability that cannot be excluded under New Zealand law.
11. Your information
We collect your name, email and (if you give it) phone number to process your payment, send your receipt and contact you about your visit. Payment details are handled by Stripe. We don't sell your information. Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask to see or correct the information we hold about you by contacting us.
12. General
These terms are governed by New Zealand law. We may update them from time to time; the version shown on this page when you pay is the one that applies to your purchase.
